CME Student Joy Martin Studying at the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Rouen
Joy Michelle Martin, a junior at Indiana University Bloomington's Kelley School of Business, will be studying at the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Rouen in Rouen, France in the spring of 2008. This is one of France's small, elite grandes ecoles. Her primary department affiliation will be the Institut de Formation Internationale, an undergraduate school of international business. Joy is a member of Laymen Chapel CME Church in South Bend, Indiana. Rev. Terrell A. Jackson is her pastor. She is the daughter of Josephine Thomas who recently transferred from Laymen Chapel to St. John CME Church in Akron Ohio, where Rev. Arthur S. Green is the pastor.
Joy is a 4.0 graduate of Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana, where she was a top student in her class of over 600 graduates. She played trombone in the marching band and also used her talents in the 2000 Youth and Young Adult Conference Orchestra. She is currently a member of the Indiana University Marching Hundred band which was the top NCAA marching band in 2006. Joy has a full academic scholarship to study at Indiana University, where she is studying Marketing, along with minors in French and Psychology. She is member of the honors college and maintains a 3.57 grade point average.
At Laymen, Joy was a member of the children's choir, junior usher board and Sunday School, where she served as secretary. She was a member of the CYF and the youth team which took top honors in the Gary district Jammin' for Jesus competition. She was also the recipient of a Harold D. Watson scholarship given by the Michigan Indiana Conference Lay Department.
