Services for Bro. Henry Boyd, Jr.
Services for Bro. Henry Boyd, Jr. will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Anderson Chapel CME Church, Holly Springs, MS, Rev. Denise Anders-Modest, pastor.  Bro. Boyd is the nephew of Editor of The Christian Index and pastor of Mt. Zion CME Church (Ashland, Ms.) Dr. Kenneth E. Jones and Rev. Dr. Margarie Stovall, pastor of Haynes Chapel CME Church, Pelahatchie, Ms. A resident of Memphis, Tn., Bro. Boyd was a U.S. armed services veteran as well as a member of Adolphus Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs, Rev. Billie Williams, pastor.

Passing of Bishop Walker's Brother John G. Walker

Passing of Rev. Monroe Woods, Jr.
Dear CME Members and Friends,
 
It is with sadness that I carry out the duty of informing you of the passing of the Rev. Monroe Woods, Jr.  He made his transition early on Monday, August 29, 2011 in Houston, Texas where he recently moved after spending many years in the state of California.
 
Rev. Woods served as the pastor of Hays Tabernacle, Los Angeles; Hashaway Community (now Bethel) in Long Beach; Calvary in Pasadena and spent a time in the Seventh Episcopal District. 
 
Funeral arrangements are pending.

Loss of Mr. Frank Luster
We regret to inform you of the death of  Mr. Frank Luster, the husband of Rev. Florence B. Luster and the father of Mrs. Deborah Luster Dickenson, Florida District Missionary President.
