Amos Metropolitan CME Missionary Society Annual Day

By Sharese Terrell Willis, Ph.D.
The annual celebration of the Women’s Missionary Society at Amos Metropolitan CME Church had both local and national flair as it embraced the national Society’s theme – Reach Back, Stand Firm, and Move Forward. The speaker for the morning worship service was Dr. Sharese Terrell Willis, whose talk was titled, “Laying the Groundwork: God is in the House.” The afternoon service was the pinnacle of the day’s events with a march of women in white, as area missionaries showed their support— Phillips Memorial CME Church, First Institutional Baptist Church, and Greater New Bethel Church of God in Christ. At the afternoon service, Rev. Joyce Braddock Redfearn, pastor of Mask Memorial CME Church in Lansing, MI, lifted the room with a message on the day’s theme, with emphasis on Philippians 3:8-14. The day concluded with the crowning of Ms. Minner Crockett as the fifth winner of the Queen Contest at Amos. Ms. Crockett is technically a member of the New Mexico District but calls both Arizona and New Mexico home.
